What it is
Ollama is an open-source tool for running open models such as coding, vision and embedding models on your own computer, with an option to run larger models in Ollama's cloud without a local GPU. It exposes its own API plus OpenAI and Anthropic compatible endpoints, has Python and JavaScript libraries, and connects to tools like Claude Code and VS Code. Paid plans add cloud usage credits and team billing.
